Description

format: A3
assignment:
In illustrating class I got an assignment to draw a poster. Either a entertainment poster or a political poster.
In my freehand-drawing-class I got an assignment to illutsrate a text.
Now, as smart as I am I desided to combine the both of them and make one product for two assignments. :D (Big Grin) ... the one matter I didn't consider was how I where suppose to deliver the product to the two different teachers... :( (Sad)
technique:
I drew the lower part with the peons with pencils. (H to 8B)
Printed the text on from the school's Mac.
Copied the picture and text together.
(still too boring)
Used a colored paper
(bether, but still a tad boring)
Added the red splatter using red acryll paint
Used watercolor to smoothen the drawing I did with pencil because it got very grainy after the copymachine
I had to scan it in two parts since the scanner wasn't big enough. The original scan was twice as big as the one I submitt.
translation
WARMACHINE
a requirement for any nation
the nations pride
pride fathers and mothers
childless fathers and mothers
all for honor and glory
all for the best of the nation
Stuff INC.
I originally planned to make an english version of it as well, but due to lack of time I didn't. I might do one after my exam is done. Anyway, either a new freehand or digital version will probaly be made later.
And for the record... them litle creatures are peons. Based on the pawns from a very well known game called chess. (witch I do not play btw)

Can't we soon get a political section to the deviant art we submitt? pleeease? (big puppy eyes)

Very, very well done! It's clean, and powerful, and the imagery is absolutely gripping. I love your idea as well. As someone did say already, it does remind me of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', but this is completely original and lovely. GREAT work! Definitely a +favlove
